Day One: House 28

Today we worked at the Central Mine Heritage Site in Keweenaw County. We are working on restoring what is referred to as House #28 which was originally built in the 1850's. We broke into several teams to start the day. Teams in the morning included the electrical team, porch restoration team, drywall team, and the nail pulling team. Many hundreds of nails were pulled from the ceiling joists to make it ready for drywall. Deck wood was replaced and the porch support posts were repaired. Mudding and sanding happened on floor one in the living and dining rooms. Electrical wires were pulled through walls and joists making way for there to be light like on the first day in Genesis. We all had sack lunches at the Doctor's house #10 and rested for a few minutes. After lunch more work ensued and also hiking trails were cleared amongst the mosquitoes.
